Mayawati speaks at Kanshi Ram anniversary rally in Lucknow

In a powerful display of support, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Friday acknowledged the “record-breaking” turnout at the rally in Lucknow, commemorating the 19th death anniversary of the party’s founder, Kanshi Ram. She claimed the large presence of youth and women has sent rival parties into a state of unease.

The rally took place at the Kanshi Ram Memorial on VIP Road, where attendees exuberantly chanted slogans aimed at ensuring BSP’s governance in Uttar Pradesh for a fifth time. This strong showing of solidarity signifies the unwavering determination of BSP supporters, according to Mayawati.

In her post on X, she noted that it is natural for opposition leaders to feel unsettled by such an overwhelming display of strength. Mayawati advised her supporters to disregard “meaningless remarks and statements” from rival factions.

“The people of the Bahujan Samaj have illustrated their commitment to fulfilling Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s dream of empowering the oppressed via their votes,” she stated, emphasizing the party’s core mission.

Mayawati further urged party workers to stay vigilant against the “divisive and deceitful tactics” employed by their political opponents. She stressed the need for total dedication to ‘Mission 2027’, the BSP’s campaign aimed at the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Expressing deep gratitude, Mayawati acknowledged the efforts of party functionaries and workers from across all 75 districts who facilitated the mobilization of lakhs of supporters to attend the rally. Their commitment has proven to be a unifying force, symbolizing strength in advancing the BSP’s mission.

In the larger political context, the BSP remains a significant player in Uttar Pradesh’s electoral landscape. The recent rally highlights the party’s strategy to harness grassroots support, particularly among the younger generation, in anticipation of state elections. As Mayawati continues to amplify the narrative of social justice and equality, it’s crucial for the BSP to sustain this momentum as they gear up for their electoral battle ahead.
